When Taylor Swift announced her 10th studio album “Midnights” would be released at midnight on Oct. 21, the whole internet buzzed with anticipation.

When the time came, thirteen songs were dropped to all major streaming platforms. It only further launched to popularity when the artist added seven additional songs to an extended album “Midnights (3am Edition).”

According to Spotify, “Midnights” became its most-streamed album in a single day, and Swift broke the platform’s record for the most-streamed artist in a single day. Now she has been labeled as 3rd most popular artist in the world on Spotify with over 77 million monthly listeners.

Within three hours of the upload of “Anti-Hero” onto Swift’s Youtube Channel, there were more than two million views. Now the view count has surpassed 51 million.

According to Rolling Stone, Luminate and Billboard reported that the new album sold 1.2 million album units within three days of its release. This breaks the previous record, the first time a musician has managed to get their album in the opening week two-comma club since Swift herself did so with “Reputation” in 2017.

According to Billboard, as reported by Luminate, in one week the new album had “collectively drew 1.16 billion official streams and sold 211,000 downloads worldwide in the week ending Oct. 27, according to Luminate.”

Currently, she has dominated the Billboard Hot 100. The Top 10 are all songs from her new album. The rest are spread across the Top 50.

The songs are a mix of solid bass, catchy melodies, and slow flow with an overall theme of self-reflection at a time when someone falls apart.

The artist has released dates for her nationwide tour in 2023 with tickets available on ticketmaster.com. To increase the chances to see this superstar, “Verified Fan” members can receive an access code for a presale of concert tickets. This opportunity ends on Nov. 9 but that doesn’t automatically discount anyone from tickets. While the “Verified Fan” members start their presale on Nov. 15, the general public may also buy tickets on Nov. 18.

Mrs. Cromleigh is now advising a brand new club all about Taylor Swift. The club had its first interest meeting on Oct. 31 and will meet again on Nov. 14 at 6:40 AM in room 1123.
