‘When you move they can’t getcha’

Book review
‘When you move they can’t getcha’

Want a book to have you on the edge of your seat?

The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver is a murder mystery. In the book Lincoln Rhyme is a world-class criminologist, but has been bedridden for years due to an injury on the job years ago. As a result, Lincoln Rhyme has been having a hard time finding a purpose to live. Then there is Amelia Sachs, a police officer that only does city patrol, discovers a gruesome homicide and is forced to take action and run the scene. As a result, Lincoln and Amelia have been placed to work together to solve the murder. They quickly realize that the killer is on the move and planning to capture more victims for his evil plans. To save the victims, in just a few days Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs have to figure out who the killer is by using the clues the killer leaves behind at each crime scene. This exhilarating book will cause you to not only ask, what will happen next but will the villain actually win?

This book was like a stick of dynamite. I read every chance I got just to see who the next victim will be and if Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs will finally solve the case. I would recommend this book to everyone, however, it may be a more difficult read and there might be some inappropriate parts for younger readers.

The setting of The Bone Collector takes place in New York City in 1998 and is based on the havoc created by James Scheider, who was the real-life bone collector. Jeffery Deaver was able to use what James Scheider had done in the past as the base of his plot. And as a result, he was able to manipulate the story so there are many twists and turns that were never expected.

Overall, this created an enjoyable read because you were always on your toes waiting for what will happen next. Character development was also a major part of developing the story. Throughout the story, it feels as if you are there with the characters watching them build a relationship. This helps you understand the characters better and better as the story progresses.

The Bone Collector is 515 pages long and is rated for 18 years or older. The rating is due to violence, romance, language, drinking, drugs, and smoking. And if you are seriously considering reading, but still have some concerns you can find more information on Common Sense Media.

Overall, I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is one of my most favorite reads! It caused me to look into other books by Jeffery Deaver and overall I would recommend The Bone Collector to everyone.
