Taylor Swift announced she is on tour in 2023 and presale tickets went on sale Tuesday, Nov. 15 because of the amount of fans wanting tickets, the sale caused Ticketmaster to crash.

It logged everyone out. For almost all fans, Ticketmaster was the only way to buy tickets for the tour. Many people waited in the queue for anywhere from five minutes to seven hours.

“I got Taylor Swift tickets. I waited two hours in the queue but it was definitely worth it” Megan Ward ‘23 said.

As of Friday the 18th, Swift sent out a message on her Instagram apologizing for all the mayhem.

Many fans even got into the queue, waited, and then were able to get the tickets in the cart, but by the time the tickets were ready to buy, they were already reserved by someone else.

This caused fans to go crazy. More than 2 million tickets were bought on Tuesday, which is known to be the most tickets sold to one artist in a day.

According to The Washington Post, “Swift just recently canceled the general sale tickets due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet demand”.

As a result, many followers that weren’t in the presale were left sad and unhappy, as they didn’t have a chance to purchase seats. Many fans tweeted their honest opinions about how they felt about all of this chaos.

As a result of this, lots of people plan to resell tickets for as much as $28,000 and that price will only continue to go up.
