Don’t Worry Darling with stars, Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, is set to be released on Sept. 23, but with the recent rise of drama from the film, let’s take a look behind the scenes of this psychological thriller.

Release of the cast of this film began on April 24, 2020, when Deadline reported that Florence Pugh, Shia LaBeouf, and Chris Pine had been cast for the new film. However, near the middle of September, Shia LaBeouf was dropped from the film ahead of production due to poor behavior. Due to the dismissal of LaBeouf, a worldwide favorite, Harry Styles stepped into the role of Jack Chambers.

In Nov. 2020, director of the movie, Olivia Wilde, announced that she and her fiance had split up toward the beginning of the year. The confirmed split led to the beginning of Wilde and Styles’ relationship in January 2021. According to various news sources, it is said that their relationship grew from the meeting on the set of Don’t Worry Darling. Despite Styles’ new relationship, his fan base did not take the relationship news well.

With all of the drama around Wilde and Styles’ relationship, you may have wondered where Florence Pugh is brought into this; well, you are about to find out. Pugh and Wilde began on good terms prior to filming. Pugh expressed her excitement to work with the director in the new film, and Wilde expressed her excitement for the young actor as well.

However, as filming wrapped up, fans noticed Pugh’s lack of press on the movie, hinted that the young actor may distance herself from the unreleased film rather than promote it. Wilde posted how thrilled she was to work with Pugh and see her in action; however, the feelings were not reciprocated as Pugh did not acknowledge the post.

Pugh finally spoke about the film in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, but she did not mention Styles or Wilde when she talked about the film. She mentioned her displeasure with people’s focus on the film but went no further than that. Wilde continued to praise Pugh and shot down rumors of a large pay difference between her and Styles.

Recently the cast met together for the Venice film festival, but that doesn’t mean the red carpet was free from drama. When a reporter asked Wilde about the rumored feud between her and Pugh, she gave a vague answer rather than her previous direct answers.

With all of the drama around this film, you can still catch it in theaters on September 23, 2022, where you can join Alice Chambers on her journey through her perfect town that might not be as perfect as it seems.
