The Berlin advanced choirs recently traveled to the Big Apple. This trip was filled with different activities from a choreo class to a tour of the city. The choreo class was led by Thayne Jasperson who is an active member in the Hamilton cast. He taught them two different dances to songs from Hamilton like the popular song, “My Shot”. After that, the choirs toured the city and visited many popular places like Central Park, the Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, the 9/11 Memorial, the Broadway Museum, the Moma, and Summit One.
The highlight of the trip was when the choirs had the opportunity to perform in St. John’s, the divine Catholic Cathedral. They performed six different songs in the space which includes some favorites like the alma mater, and “In Meeting We Are Blessed.”
“My favorite show was the Outsiders because the choreography, music, and set were all amazing,” Addie Boertje ‘26 said.
