Darshana Sudarmani ‘28 and Rishika Boda ‘28 explore the controversial cell phone policy put into place in 2026. Olentangy Berlin has adopted the no-cell-bell-to-bell rule and teachers and students have various views on it.
“Participation, curiosity, and questions—I’m definitely seeing way more of those things now than ever before,” Eric Sidol said.
Although productivity has improved after this policy, students still don’t seem to like it. Most believe it did not make a difference from before
“Even before when we were allowed to go on our phones, no one would really go on their phones, it would just be there,” Sandra Albeer said.
Teachers and students have different opinions on this policy, but it still remains intact for the rest of the school year, whether they like it or not.
