As Berlin warms up, OBHS track athletes prepare themselves for the spring season. Through weights, exercises, and even outdoor runs, the work is intense.
The Berlin track season starts in late March and continues into June for the State Championship. But before this, athletes must continuously train and push themselves to truly excel. Athletes lift weights in the weight room, and perform various cardiovascular exercises to prepare themselves for the season. This preparation includes long runs around the track even in cold and inclement weather.
Things like proper nutrition, sleep, and workouts are essential to an athlete’s success, but so is teamwork. To truly succeed in the track season, athletes must work together to lift each other up, and of course, have fun.
“My favorite part of track training is that I like the meets late at night; it is really fun being able to run with my team and have lots of fun.” Vansh Sethi ‘27 said.
