Shale Hollow Park is a local park created by Delaware Preservation Parks open all year-round and has plenty of opportunities to experience nature even throughout the winter season.
Shale Hollow Park is managed by Preservation Parks of Delaware County, a non-profit organization concerned with the preservation of natural features of Delaware County. Shale Hollow is unique, as it is the most visited of these parks, with large geological features. The park staff work hard to maintain the natural beauty of the park, along with its plants and animals.
“We support Shale Hollow by working on the natural areas and improving the natural areas. For instance, invasive planet management, we’ve done native plant and tree planting in the past,” Chris Roshon, Natural Resources Manager said.
