Berlin’s Gameday Cheer team took 2nd place at their first competition of the year, UCA regionals on Oct. 26 at Berlin High School.
Members of the cheer team were proud of their successful start.
“It was a good way to start the season and start us off on the right foot,” said sophomore Ella Kunselman.
The team is made up of students grades through 9-12 who work outside of their regular football or basketball practice schedules to perfect their gameday routine.
They competed again on Nov 9 at the Ohio High School Cheerleading & Dance Coaches Association Best in State competition and placed second. Their next competition is on Dec 13 at Wittenberg University.
“I think we did really good at regionals and I think we are going to continue to get better so it’s good progress,” sophomore Emma Wyatt said.
