Dwayne Haskins suffers unexpected death

  On April 9, Dwayne Haskins was hit by a dump truck in Florida on the highway. He ended his college football season with Ohio State and signed with the Pittsburgh steelers. Haskins was the quarterback at Ohio State and threw 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns during his season in 2018 according to ESPN.com   

  Haskins attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale. The reason why he was walking on the interstate was not released but what was released said that the case is open for traffic homicide investigation.

   “For those who knew him closely, he was much more than a great football player. He had a giant heart, an old soul and an infectious smile. The Ohio State community and our entire football program are heartbroken,” Ryan Day, current Ohio State football head coach said, according to ESPN. The sudden death of a former teammate is devastating to many. He was a beloved teammate and friend. 

    The Pittsburgh Penguins held a moment of silence in honor of Haskins before their Saturday afternoon game against the Washington Capitals, according ESPN. Even the hockey team is having a memorial for Haskins.
