First overall 2023 NBA Draft pick for the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembanyama has high expectations for his NBA career.

The 19 year old previously played overseas for the French Pro A League side Metropolitans 92. During his time there he averaged 21 points per game with an impressive average of 3 blocks a game. Through his impressive stats and gameplay, he was quickly expected to be the number one draft pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

After the San Antonio Spurs won the NBA Draft Lottery many awaited the arrival of Wembanyama in San Antonio. The Spurs made that expectation a reality on draft night as they made the easy decision to draft Wembanyama.

Wembanyama made only two appearances for the Spurs during the NBA Summer League as the team wanted to rest their star for the NBA regular season. The center finished with an astonishing 36 points, 20 rebounds, eight blocks and 41 percent shooting from the field.

Wembanyama has only played in three regular season games so far and has shown great potential as he is averaging 15.7 points per game. He is sitting in second out of any rookie in this category as he is only trailing Brandon Miller from the Charlotte Hornets.

The 7’4’’ big man has shown great potential for his future career in the NBA so far.
