As fall comes around, gymnastics season comes around the corner. The team had so many great seasons the past few years and are here to have another.
There are about 20 gymnasts on the team and about 12 of them are gymnasts that have been on the team before. These gymnasts have come close to winning gold the past couple years and hope this year is the year. Some of the new gymnasts are: Maya Platt ‘27, Megan Almashy ‘28, Scarlett McNichols ‘28, and Sydney Goodspeed ‘28.
This year they have 15 meets all around Ohio. The first meet is Saturday, Dec.15 which is the Hilliard Invitational. One of the gymnasts favorite meets is Tumble & Takedown which is hosted here. This meet is where the wrestlers and the gymnasts come together so half the gym is the wrestling mats and half the gym is the gymnastics mats. One other favorite meet is the state individuals where you compete statewide for yourself and not the whole team.
“Last season was a lot of fun and we went to a lot of meets, but my favorite was either our state meet or invitational in Akron,” Emily Perdue ‘27 said.
The gymnasts love to compete for Berlin and are so excited for this year. Since they compete on so many levels, everyone on the team participates no matter what. The Berlin Gymnastics team is so ecstatic to compete this year and attempt to win states.
