Recently, Disney announced at their biennial event, D23, many new and excitement filled changes that are set to come in 2024 and 2025.
Disney held D23 at the Anaheim Convention center on Aug. 9, 10 and 11. This is an event where many Disney fans gather together to hear Disney announce their new plans. This year Disney announced numerous rides, experiences, and shows.
One of the fan favorites is the new area in Disney’s Magic Kingdom dedicated to the villains of the classic Disney stories. In this evil land you can expect to see two major rides, a restaurant, and a few shops. Not only will they add Villain’s Land but also a huge area dedicated to Cars. Currently there is a river that runs through Frontierland. This will all be taken away and replaced with Cars Land which will feature two themed rides.
Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand USA will be replaced, but you can expect something even more spectacular. Animal Kingdom will welcome a Tropical Americas with rides that will include the first ever attraction to feature the hit Disney movie, Encanto! This ride will feature Antonio and his gift of Animals Communication. This ride will take you through the forest with Antonio and his many animal friends, maybe even some other members of the Madrigal family.
“I think Tropical Americas is amazing for Animal Kingdom and I’m super excited for Encanto and I’m definitely excited for the Indiana Jones ride because the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland is great but the Dinosaur ride I was not a big fan of,” teacher Keenan Meadows said
Not only will there be changes to the parks, Disney also announced four new cruise ships to add to its fleet alongside the other five they already own that are set to sail between 2027 and 2031. People across the world love Disney so much that Disney Cruise Line decided to offer cruises that travel from other continents like Southeast Asia.
“Now we’re going to have a fleet that can go meet our fans where they are and tell all these amazing stories that we have,” Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said, according to USA Today.
