While summer has come to a close, I wanted to share what I believe to be the top five ice cream shops around Columbus! These shops are very well liked by students and families.
Little Ladies:
This is located in Westerville, Ohio and was established in 2018. They started off with just an old postal service truck and turned it into a cute ice cream truck. They are mostly known for their soft serve but they have exceptionally good sundaes.
Sticky fingers:
They are located in Delaware and Kilbourne, Ohio. Sticky Fingers opened in 2018 but the building has been used as a summer staple since the 1970’s. Their second shop is in the Ohio house which was built in the 1800’s. The Ohio house was used for making newspapers and was also used as an inn! Sticky Fingers has mostly traditional ice cream but also tons of flavors in milkshakes and sundaes! Not many people know but Sticky Fingers bakes fresh cookies each day!
Whit’s:
They have 30 locations in Ohio and six locations in the Columbus area! Whit’s was first established in May of 2003 with their first one in Granville, Ohio! They don’t make normal types of ice cream – they make custard! What’s different about Whit’s is that they make every flavor fresh daily.
Graeters:
They have 13 locations in Columbus, Ohio. Graeters opened on the streets of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1870, out of two carts. They have all traditional ice cream flavors, but also gluten free and lactose free options! They have smoothies, pints, milkshakes, sundaes, and even a smaller pint for your dog!
The Yard:
They have one location, located in the Short North downtown. They opened in 2019 after they made their debut on Shark Tank. They currently have 31 locations and more to come! This is definitely not a normal ice cream shop; they make huge milkshakes that are topped with many different desserts. They also have the best edible cookie dough and they make little bowls of their milkshakes if you don’t want as much!
