Gwyneth Paltrow was deemed not at fault for a ski incident that happened seven years ago in Utah.

Retired Optometrist, Terry Sanderson, sued Paltrow, a famous actor and businesswoman, for $300,000 after he claimed that her reckless attempts to ski left him with permanent brain damage that has had a negative impact on his life after she collided with him, according to NBC News. The accident happened on Feb. 26, 2016 at Deer Valley Resort in Utah. The impact left Sanderson with a concussion and four broken ribs, along with brain damage.

Paltrow countersued Sanderson for $1 as well as her legal fees to be paid if she won, as she claimed that she was not at fault for the accident. According to NBC News, Craig Ramon, the only person who claimed to witness the accident, said that he saw Paltrow ram into Sanderson from behind. He said he saw Sanderson face down in the snow and that Paltrow left the scene about four minutes after without identifying herself and did not stop to check on Sanderson.

Paltrow tells a different story in which she claimed that Sanderson hit her and that she did not leave the accident before Sanderson notified everyone that he was alright. The instructor filed a report later that day in which she said Sanderson ran into Paltrow.

In the end, the jury came to the conclusion that Sanderson was at fault for the accident which now requires him to pay Paltrow the $1 and her legal fees.

According to the New York Post, Sanderson regrets filing a lawsuit against Paltrow and he was disappointed with the outcome. After the verdict was decided, Paltrow whispered in Sanderson’s ear, “I wish you well,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
