Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley announced her bid for the 2024 election on Wed. According to AP News, she called for “Generational change in Washington and a rejection of identity politics dividing the United States.”

She would be the first person to challenge Former President Donald Trump’s campaign, which he announced in November. According to Fox News, Trump welcomed this challenge.

“The more the merrier,” Trump said, according to Fox News. “I want her to follow her heart-even though she made a commitment that she would never run against who she called the greatest president of her lifetime.”

Haley, who is 51, told Americans that Republicans have lost the popular vote due to a failure to win the confidence of other Americans. To fix this, she said to place trust in “a newer generation.”

“America is not past its prime,” Haley said, according to AP News. “It is just that our politicians are past theirs.”

However, Haley won’t be the only one to challenge Trump for the 2024 GOP presidential bid.  According to AP News, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, and Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are all expected to launch campaigns in the near future.

However, the biggest question that is raised is if any of the other presidential bids will be able to beat Trump. According to AP News, many question if the other candidates will be able to beat Trump due to his popularity back in 2016.
