The only child of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away at the young age of 54 on the evening of Jan. 12.
On the morning of Thursday, Jan. 15, Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of late Elvis Presley, was rushed to the hospital after an episode of cardiac arrest. Upon the arrival of paramedics, they performed CPR on Lisa Marie before she was transferred to a local hospital to receive immediate medical care.
According to AP News, “A subsequent statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said paramedics performed CPR and ‘determined the patient had signs of life’ before taking her to a hospital in nearby West Hills immediately.”
However, that following evening, Lisa Marie passed away at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.
Just hours after Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla Presley had announced and confirmed that her daughter was rushed to the hospital earlier that morning, she shared the devastating news of her daughter’s passing.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Presley said. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
Days before Lisa Marie’s sudden death, she attended the Golden Globes alongside her mother to celebrate actor Austin Butler in his award nomination and victory for playing her father in “Elvis.”
“My heart is completely shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper and Priscilla at the tragic and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie,” Butler said. “I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared. Her warmth, her love and her authenticity will always be remembered.”
Beyond the title of the one and only child of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley will be remembered for her own mark she made on the music industry, and for the strength she portrayed throughout her life.
