Popular music group “Migos” lost 28-year- old member Takeoff in a shooting on Nov. 1.

Takeoff and other band member, Quavo, were in attendance at a private party in a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. The party was planned to end at 1 a.m., but people stayed afterward and a fight broke out. Houston police said that the shots were fired from at least two weapons. Takeoff wasn’t the only person injured due to the action.

“Two other people on the premises were shot and taken to the hospital,” Houston Police said according to Rolling Stones.

No one knows why the rapper was shot, even the police.

“We have no reason to believe that he was involved in anything criminal at the time,” Chief Finner of the Houston Police department said in an interview with The New York Times

The authorities have shared that no suspect has been arrested or taken into custody, but they encourage eyewitnesses to step forward with any information they have. Alongside the eyewitness information, a spokesperson for the Houston Police Department said that they need the public’s help to find out more about the incident as videos continue to spread on the internet rapidly. In one video you can hear Quavo cry in distress. In another, you can hear Quavo on the phone say “what does she need to do” as a woman, who claimed to be a nurse, administered help to Takeoff.

Fans of Migos and the rap community are deeply saddened by the news of his death.

“When I heard the news it got me to tears. Migos’s music got me through breakups, graduation, celebrations. And now I can’t listen to them anymore because it will never be the same,” Tatiana Battle said to The New York Times in an interview.

Migos formed in 2008 and became extremely popular for their hit song “Bad and Boujee” which was released in 2016. They went on to release even more music and rose on the charts rapidly. With a total of fourteen albums and many music award nominations, no one knows as of right now if fans can expect more music from the group after the tragic incident.
