While there is no doubt that the Berlin football players and coaches work hard, day in and day out, to cultivate the dominant program that we know them as this season, there is someone that works just as diligently behind the scenes, or more specifically, behind the lens of a camera.

Jonny Henrickson, a senior here at Berlin, is the Video Recorder and Equipment Manager for the Berlin Football Team, and has been since his freshman year. Henrickson originally heard of the position from his older brother and has been an undeniable asset for the Bears ever since.

“They needed help so he asked me one day if I was interested. I said I would help and it has been the best experience,” Henrickson said.

Not only has Henrickson helped the team grow and compete over the last four years, but he feels that he has learned important lessons about the sport in return. Whether it be football tips or the ins and outs of a team, Henrickson is grateful for the knowledge he gained throughout his time with the program.

“Working with Coach Nori has taught me so much about football and the behind-the-scenes of a program, that knowledge will stay with me forever as I work in sports,” Henrickson said.

From preseason practices to playoff game days, and everything in between, Henrickson supported coaches and players to help prepare them for whatever they may face on the field. He has become a staple in the Berlin football community and is greatly appreciated by the team.

“Jonny has greatly impacted the team throughout these past four years. He’s very good at what he does and doesn’t ask for anything in return from doing it. He’s not just our film guy, he’s our teammate, coach, and brother – and forever will be. The atmosphere is definitely uplifted Jonny’s present and [he] always finds the serendipity in everything on and off the field,” senior football player, Kyle Jackowski said.

Along with appreciation from his teammates, Henrickson has earned the respect of the coaches, too. He has worked with them over his time with Berlin Football and has grown to be an irreplaceable facet of their staff.

“Jonny Henrickson is valuable to the program. He’s our behind-the-scenes guy that gets everything done in the equipment room and the video room. He’s going to be a hard guy to replace next year,” football Head Coach, Mark Nori said.

Henrickson acknowledged the help of others that made his job possible these past four years. He recognized the team mindset of the program, and how it ultimately benefits everyone involved.

“I’d also like to say that this season wouldn’t have been possible without Addie Kearns. She helps the team out with video for practices and games and it’s a massive help what she does,” Henrickson said.
