DQ melts summer heat

Alivia Harrell, Intro Student

As the summer approaches and the temperature starts to change, you may want to indulge in a cold, frozen treat; ice cream! There are many different types of ice cream, however, one of my favorite types of ice cream is blizzards, found at Dairy Queen (DQ). Blizzards may not be considered ice cream due to nutritional factors, however, they are cold and delicious nonetheless.

DQ serves an assortment of outstanding blizzard flavors, and one thing they are known for is their new summer flavor blizzards every year. The summer line-up at DQ consists of six new blizzard flavors: Oreo Dirt Pie, Caramel Fudge Cheesecake, Girl Scout Thin Mints, Drumsticks with Peanuts, Very Cherry Chip, and Cotton Candy.

Compared to DQ, no other places have new, exotic flavors every summer. However, a negative factor of DQ is prices. Some of the prices are expensive compared to smaller-chain ice cream shops, however, if only want to spend a small portion of money, you can choose which size of a blizzard you want: Mini, Small, Medium, and Large.

Combined with the prices and flavors, I rate Dairy Queen Blizzards ten out of ten because they are delicious, full of flavor, and provide relief from the heat. To view nutritional information and new, available flavors at DQ, go to Dairy Queen’s website: https://www.dairyqueen.com/en-us/
