Dick’s Sporting Goods and Public Lands have liquidation sales to add House of Sport, apart of Dick’s where athletes train and engage with different equipment.
The goal of this new store brought to Polaris is to engage with their local athletes, brand partners, and community through the involvement of their consumers. The business will add this equipment to replace the Public Lands that was in its spot to combine what they already had with the Dick’s retail department with the House of Sport.
“House of Sport is an approximately 100,000+ square foot store that provides customers with an incredible assortment of products along with in-store experiences, including a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackMan simulators, and multi-sport cages that can be used for baseball, softball, lacrosse, and soccer and give customers an opportunity to try product while measuring and tracking their performance,” Dick’s House of Sport said, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
Many believe it will also attract more customers to the Polaris mall because of its purpose. Ultimately, this will expand the diversity of the people who visit the mall and increase not only their business’s profit but also the mall’s profit.
“It’s also driving significant benefits to our real estate partners. We continue to hear from mall operators that our House of Sport locations drive increased traffic, sales per square foot, and occupancy rates for the malls where they operate. House of Sport is drawing unprecedented landlord interest and the opportunity to join many of the best shopping centers in the country,” Dick’s CEO Lauren Hobart said during an earnings call in September, according to shop-eat-surf-outdoor.com.
The liquidation sale included items at Dick’s to be 50% off and items at Public Lands to be 75% off, however, the discounts vary day to day, yets and exclude the Ohio State apparel sold because it is kept at full price.
