On Monday, the Browns went into a key AFC matchup against the Denver Broncos, as they were mired in the playoff hunt.
The Browns exhibited new life as they headed into the matchup, as quarterback Jameis Winston breathed life into the team last week, as they defeated the Steelers on a snowy Thursday night in Cleveland.
Comparatively, the Broncos, led by rookie quarterback Bo Nix came into the match, as he attempted to hold the team afloat in the playoff hunt, as they were seeded as the last Wild Card team in.
The game saw offensive fireworks all throughout the game. This included a 93 yard touchdown reception for Marvin Mims, Jr. for the Broncos, and a 70 yard touchdown reception for Jerry Jeudy for the Browns, all in the third quarter.
The long touchdown for Jeudy was emblematic of his electric performance, as the former Bronco first-round draft pick had 235 receiving yards on only nine receptions.
Jeudy was helped by a stellar day from his quarterback, Jameis Winston. Winston threw for 497 yards and four touchdowns.
However, what doomed the Browns was Winston’s three interceptions, which included two that were returned back for touchdowns that helped seal the game, and helped the Broncos win 41-32.
After the game, Winston noted his disappointment at his turnovers.
“I know I’m better than this. I’m praying for the lord to deliver me from pick-sixes,” said Winston, according to USA Today.
The Browns will hope to rebound as they will face the Steelers on Sunday, while the Broncos will rest this weekend, as it will have a bye.
