On March 17, 2023, Taylor Swift embarked on her two year journey across the globe. The Eras tour began in Arizona with a three hour show which showcases every era of her career.
She began her tour to cover nine of her ten albums, only to exclude her self titled debut album ‘Taylor Swift’. On April 19, Swift released her eleventh album ‘The tortured Poets Department’(TTPD) which switched her setlist slightly.
To kick off with her Lover era, Taylor sings fan favorites and dances around while she climbs large structures. The most successful from this era, ‘The Man’ and the album titled ‘Lover’.
Taylor then moves into her Fearless era which surrounds her yellow sparkle dress and the iconic Fearless spins. Fans hold up a heart with their hands to show their love while she plays ‘You belong with me’.
Swiftly she changed into her Reputation body suit, which until Oct. 18, had been the only outfit to not change. Now, the only bodysuit she wears is a golden snake on a black shimmer suit.
She then played her only era with one song, Speak now. This era has had the most outfit changes out of the entire tour.
After Taylor released TTPD, she combined her sister albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ to make Folkmore as fans like to call it. She climbed the Folklore house and sang loudly to the stadium.
With five sections left, Swift entered her infamous Red era. This era is most commonly known for the ‘22’ hat that she hands to a fan while in the songs. This fan is chosen by her mother Angela Swift. The two exchanged bracelets and had the opportunity for hugs while she sang the bridge of ‘22’.
Newly added ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ quickly became a fan favorite as Taylor explored a new setlist and style of movement. Swift hoovered around the stage on a custom built platform as she sang ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me’.
Taylor entered her next era with vibrant colors and hit tunes. Her background dancers entered ‘1989’ on bicycles. While Swift quickly changed into her surprise song dress, fans were met with soft waterfall sounds to enter her only era to change daily.
Taylor picked these songs based on the intensity of the crowd, and sang a mashup of two songs on both guitar and piano.
Her final era, ‘Midnights’ ends her three hour show with a bang. Taylor hypes fans up as her background dancers frolic around stage to ‘Anti-hero’ and ‘Karma’.
Many different celebrities have gone to Taylors ‘The Eras Tour’ like Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferral, and Tom Cruise.
The two year long expedition will end Dec. 8, in Vancouver, Canada after 149 shows spread out across the globe.
