In celebration of World Teachers’ Day, Apple has gifted various resources and expanded programs to assist teachers in their mission to improve the quality of education around the globe.
The company has worked with schools since 1978, and since then, they haven’t fallen short to aid the education system. Apple has put millions of dollars into programs that will allow a more efficient classroom environment. The “Everyone Can Create” package listed above was released on Oct. 1, and includes free programs for learners of all ages. These include a galaxy constellation creator, emoji compound word maker, and numerous video/audio applications.
Teachers are also provided with a guide of how to navigate the mechanisms used in the new resources. This will allow them to help assist students better in the technologically advanced world of today that children will continue to grow up in.
“At Apple, we have always believed in the power of education to open new doors and give people the tools they need to build a better, more equitable world,” Lisa Jackson, Apple Vice President of Environment, Social Initiatives, and Policy, said.
The company continues to offer major discounts on their technology to schools and educators in hopes to bring Apple into more classrooms. They even published a 50 page report to explain their current and future programs to continue their expansion and better-education operation.
Apple also hosts their own project entitled, “Apple Distinguished Schools”, in which 500 schools in 37 different countries get the opportunity to sample Apple education programs. Apple designs these schools as some of the most innovative schools in the world as they carry out their mission using Apple’s technology. This program is an invite only opportunity for select schools that meet various criteria relating to the company.
Overall, Apple has worked to ensure that they carry out former and late CEO, Steve Jobs’, mission to use Apple to better assist the education provided worldwide, and to use technology to its greatest potential benefit.
“We’re blown away to see how tomorrow’s coders, creators, innovators, and leaders are using Apple technology and resources to make their impact known today — and we’re thrilled to expand our education work into even more communities,” Jackson said.
