Heatless curls have definitely been a hot topic for 2024. An easy way to wake up with flawless hair with no extra effort.
With these being featured on many social media platforms, there have been many different types of methods that have become popular. Some methods include the legging curls, sock curls, unicorn curls, and crown curls. The night prior to the day you want to wear your curls you should follow these steps and methods. Before you start any method, I recommend brushing your hair so that there are no tangles and parting your hair the way you prefer. For an extra tip, sometimes I like adding a couple drops of hair oil and running that through the mids to ends of your hair.
Leggings Curls:
Leggings curls are a method that became popular by Tiktok influencer, Emilie Kiser. Kiser often had legging curls featured in many of her “Get ready with me” TikTok.
For these types of curls you take any pair of leggings and place them on top of your head so that each pant leg is hanging on each side. Then, make sure you have equal amounts of hair on both sides of your head then secure both the pant leg and hair off with a clip or scrunchie so it is out of the way.
To start the process, you will start wrapping the hair from top to bottom, taking 1 inch sections to ensure they are smooth before wrapping the hair up and around and to the front of the hairline. Then just like a French or Dutch braid, you will add more hair in by grabbing another 1 inch section from the front, making it smooth, wrapping it around to the back, and bringing it back to the front.
Repeat this process until you run out of hair, and then continue to keep wrapping until you have a little bit of hair left. Once you finish, secure off with a scrunchie and make sure to tie it tight to ensure your curls stay put while you sleep. Repeat on the other side and wake up with effortless curls.
Sock Curls:
For sock curls, in my opinion the most comfortable method to sleep in, you will need two pairs of socks, two scrunchies, and one clip. To begin, ensure your hair is smooth, take a sick and lay slightly over your part, and then secure with a clip to ensure the sock lays flat. Just as the legging curls, grab a section, make sure it is smooth, wrap up and around, bring back to front, and add more hair.
Repeat this process to the end and secure it with a scrunchie. Repeat the process on the other side then secure and remove the clip. What I like to do is take both sides and secure them together like the back of my head so they stay out of the way when I sleep.
Unicorn Curls:
This method was one of the harder ones to execute and is more of an arm workout than the others. You will need a robe tie or a heatless curler rod, claw clip, and scrunchie.
To start, you will put the rod vertically, lay it in the middle of your part, and then secure it placing the claw clip halfway down the rod. This method is very similar to a French braid.
To begin, grab a small section on either side of the scalp, grab it, put it up and over the rod, and then bring it back around to the other side. Once you get to where the claw clip takes it out, make sure to keep a hold of both sides while wrapping, and continue this down and they leave a little hair out in the ends and then secure with a scrunchie.
Crown Curls:
This is my personal favorite for the most reliable curls that always look good. For this one, you will need a heatless curl rod, two scrunchies, and a clip.
To begin, you will need to make your rod in a circle and then scour it to sit on your head like a crown, and then divide hair into two sections and tie off. Next, take a small smooth section, grab it, wrap it up and around the rod, and bring it back to the front, and continue this while adding hair for each. Make sure to keep the hair and rod tight while you do this. Once you get to the back, continue wrapping and then secure off. Repeat the same process.
Once finished take both sections that are tied off separately and make one little ponytail instead of two. At the top of the rod tighten the rod but pull both ends and the scrunchie down, and make sure the scrunchie in the back is very tight to make sure everything stays.
