To start off Homecoming week, the Bears showed their spirit in all of the spirit days.
This year, new and unique spirit day themes allowed students to express their creativity. Monday was Adam Sandler day, so students got to wear their best baggy, comfortable clothes and dress as Adam Sandlar.
“Adam Sandler day was one of my favorite days because it allowed everyone to step out of societal norms and be comfy, plus it’s super funny,” Amelia Phipps ‘28 said.
Tuesday was Inside Out day, so the Bears were all dressed up as characters from the Disney Pixar movie, Inside Out. Some people went a different route and wore their clothes inside out.
“I felt like it was a very touching day because the movie was very sentimental,” Emma Bodurova ‘27 said.
Then on Wednesday, the Bears were all decked out in western gear. They walked down the halls in their cowboy boots and hats.
“Western Day was fun because it’s a theme we haven’t done in a while,” Londyn Wentz ‘27 said.
Thursday was rhyme without reason. Students had fun making random connections just because they rhyme. Rhyme without reason was a brand new theme that the Bears had never done before.
“My favorite spirit day was rhyme without reason because I looked forward to seeing everyones ideas,” Kenley Cox ‘27 said.
Lastly, the Bears ended the week with DoubleBlue Friday.
“DoubleBlue Friday was the best because everyone got to show their school pride and it was amazing to see everyone united and it truly reminded us that we are all a family, ” Phipps ‘28 said.
Homecoming week was a special week for the Bears because they got to have fun and dress up.
“I felt like it was good, fun, and different from the other years and people did a good job with the themes,” Wentz said.
At such a spirited high school, the students at Berlin have a lot to live up to. They went all out for the spirit days to make Homecoming week a fun one.
