From weekend music festivals to family farm country concerts, music enthusiasts of all genres escape from brutal temperatures to dream of their summer concert plans.
With more than 20 large concert venues, Columbus is set to host over two dozen top artists in 2024 that Bears won’t want to miss. These performances include Melanie Martinez on June 13, Hozier on Aug. 7, blink-182 on Aug. 13, and even more artists in Cincinnati like Madison Beer on April 30, Niall Horan on June 25, and Tate McRae on July 24.
An avid concert-goer, Ally Santos ‘24 is especially eager for the upcoming concert season.
“I’m going to see Hozier in Columbus with my friend group and I’m so excited,” Santos said. “He’s one of my favorite artists.”
Country music lovers are especially lucky this year with visits from Dierks Bentley on April 20, Chris Young on May 3, Cole Swindell on June 8, Zach Bryan at Buckeye Country Superfest from June 22 to June 23, John Pardi on July 18, Chris Stapleton on July 19, Luke Combs on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3, and Kenny Chesney on Aug. 8.
With these live performances months out, it’s easy to fall into a concert-less winter slump. However, many don’t realize that several indoor concerts will be held in the coming months at Nationwide Arena, the Schottenstein Center, and KEMBA Live!
These artists include Travis Scott on Jan. 24, Drake on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, Sam Hunt on March 2, Playboi Carti on March 5, Dan + Shay on March 15, Olivia Rodrigo on March 22, Tim McGraw on March 23, Fall Out Boy on March 29, Nicki Minaj on April 12, and Bruce Springsteen on April 21, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
Although some of these major concerts are either sold out or egregiously priced, keep in mind that ticket prices often drop significantly the last few days before an event, according to the New York Times. That said, summer is the perfect time to make irreplaceable memories with friends and family, so log in to that Ticketmaster account and browse the hottest concerts of this season.
