Blonde Dysmorphia is seen as a joke, but it is very real.
As a blonde person myself I very much do have it. Blonde Dysmorphia is the thought that however blonde you are you will never be blonde enough.
To Berlin student Mia Wagner ‘25, blonde dysmorphia makes her feel like her hair is never light enough.
“It can get annoying when you’re not blonde enough through your eyes, so sometimes it’s exhausting,” Wagner ‘25 said.
Even if you’re a natural, or dyed blonde you will always be reaching for the perfect shade of blonde. Hundreds of people spend hours at the salon, they spend their whole paycheck to be bright blonde. On average to get your hair lightened can go from $150-$400. That’s an insane amount of money just to lighten your hair, not even to get a full bleach.
Only 2% of the people in the world are natural blondes, according to the World Population View.
Many compare their hair to famous blondes like Marilyn Monroe and Gwen Stefani.
Some great cheap options for that beautiful blonde look are as follows. Purple shampoo comes in first. This tones your hair to not be lighter, but to be brighter. Most purple shampoos do tend to make your hair more gray, be ready for that one. Hair lighteners are also a great option. Sun Bum is every blonde’s favorite when it comes to the sun to your advantage. Many people use a root touch-up to hide their natural hair.
Blonde hair is hard to keep, so when trying to stay on track people use as many options as they can to hit the perfect shade.
