Lead singer of the band TV Girl, Brad Petering, is known for his straightforward personality which gives people mixed opinions about him.
He is a 35-year-old man, a singer-songwriter, who founded the band TV Girl in 2010. The band is quite popular and has 3,930,604 followers on Spotify. He plays alongside pianist Wyatt Harmon and drummer Jack Wyman.
His band is known for bedroom pop music and their music revolves around love and relationships. Their audience consists mostly of teenagers.
According to Synth History, “They’re probably the most intense audience, because nobody listens to music like a teenager, you don’t care about music as much in your life as you do when you’re a teenager,” Petering said.
Their followers spiked throughout the pandemic in 2020 when a few of their songs went viral on TikTok. Petering doesn’t use TikTok so he started to see the popularity of the band rise on Twitter which then led to TV Girl’s Spotify to skyrocket.
The band recently released the new album “Grapes Upon the Vine” which triggered them to go on tour. Multiple Berlin students attended the concert that took place in Columbus. Many were left with a pleasant experience and were charmed by Petering.
“He’s sort of off-putting but in a funny way. Most of the credit towards his two backup singers. They were the real show,” Simon Rivera ‘24 said.
Petering leaves people with an experience to question, TV Girl leaves people with an experience to remember.
