Run into Thanksgiving with races

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the upcoming races are events that many look forward to.
The pre-feast race is something that’s a tradition for many and leaves people in anticipation of Thanksgiving. There are many fun options for races around Columbus and this article will serve as a helpful guide to help Bears not be overwhelmed by too many options.
- Chase Columbus Turkey Trot
- One race that can be enjoyed on Thanksgiving Day is the Chase Columbus Turkey Trot. There are both 2.6 and five-mile races to choose from. The five-mile course will even run directly past the Ohio Stadium which will be full of action due to the OSU vs. Michigan game later that day. At the finish, everyone gets both a medal and a delicious piece of pumpkin pie.
- Hot Chocolate Run
- This super fun race takes place on Nov. 20th and is suitable for all ages. Anyone can choose to run either a 5k, a 10k, or a 15k. This race stays true to its name and gives everyone hot chocolate at the finish line. While it’s expected to be very chilly on race day, this race is definitely worth the sign-up.
- Thanksgiving Wattle 5k
- This race takes place in Grove City, Ohio, and also has events for all ages. There’s a 5k, a children’s run, a bike ride, and the Turkey leg 100-meter dash. This race occurs on Nov. 23 and when people dress like turkeys it adds a fun touch to race day. Pumpkin pie is also available at the finish line of this race so get excited and prepare to wattle your way to the start line!
- Flying Feather 4 Miler
- This race comes full swing into Columbus on Thanksgiving Day and gives races such as the Columbus Turkey Trot a run for their money. This race takes place in Dublin and gives you both a hoodie and a medal at the finish! There’s a four-mile race and a shortened race for kids.
