Donald Trump announces his re-run for president
November 18, 2022
On Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump announced his re-run for the 2024 presidential term.
He would be the only president in history to run for two nonconsecutive terms. According to CNN, Trump made an important statement during his speech.
“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said.
According to Fox News, Trump spoke about many of his signature issues: drugs, crime, and immigration. In addition, he called for new actions such as congressional term limits, lobbying bans, and regulations on stock trading.
His speech was filled with nostalgia for his accomplishments when he was president, as well as a promise to recreate the past when he gets elected. Trump also spoke about the policies he would change that current President Biden has put in place, according to NBC.
“Joe Biden is the face of left-wing failure and Washington Corruption,” he said. “I will ensure that Joe Biden does not receive four more years…Our country could not take that.”
However, with the disappointing results of the midterm elections, many of Trump’s “supporters” believe he should step out of the light and let a younger, newer candidate run for the presidency. The republicans do not have control of the Senate, and they are not yet in control of the House of Representatives.
Although 2024 seems like a long time from now, many Bears in Berlin will be able to vote in the 2024 elections. It is important to stay updated and informed on the election process as well as the potential candidates.
