When someone gets ready for school in the morning and doesn’t quite know what to wear, these basic pieces can help make any outfit. I love a good comfortable outfit, especially one that can be worn in many different ways. Here are my top five versatile pieces.

  1. A good pair of jeans

This means any color, cut, and brand. I love blue jeans, especially high waisted ones from Hollister. The key is little to no rips, a good cut for your body, and the right amount of stretch. I love to pair these with sweaters, basic tees from Target, or crewnecks.

  1. Zip up hoodie

Personally, I love Brandy Melville zip ups. They are comfortable, soft, and beyond versatile. A good gray or black zip up can elevate any comfortable outfit. I typically pair mine with leggings, t-shirts, or even a good bathing suit in the summer.

  1. Black leggings

Obviously I had to include this classic. It doesn’t matter your personal style, everyone has to own a good pair of black leggings. They are comfortable and cute. Black leggings go great with t-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, and jackets. With black leggings the possibilities are endless.

  1. Converse

Not a piece of clothing but 100 percent a staple in my closet. Whether you want platforms, low tops, high tops, black, gray, white, blue, or zebra, Converse has it all. Once worn as basketball shoes, these canvas shoes are built for comfort and style.

  1. Jean jacket

As a student athlete we have dress up days for home games and the worst feeling is when you cannot wear a dress because of the straps. This year I chose to invest in an Old Navy jean jacket and it was the best choice I’ve made. From dresses to hoodies, jean jackets can be worn over any piece of clothing.
