Review: Death on the Nile

“Death on the Nile”, the classic read by Agatha Christie, is intheaters with a plot that has viewers on the edge of their seats.

In the movie, a newly married couple and their friends and family embark on a luxurious cruise on the Nile River in Egypt. However, the cruise takes a dark turn when Linnet Ridgeway, the newly married woman, is shot in the head. The famous Hercule Poirot, played by Kenneth Branagh, is on the case and interrogates everyone on the boat, hoping to find the person who committed the horrendous crime. The movie was released on February 11, 2022 and has racked up views and good ratings.

The boat is composed of only a few family and friends and some workers. The central cast of Gal Gadot as Linnet Ridgeway, Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot, Armie Hammer as Simon Doyle, and Emma Mackey as Jacqueline De Bellefort truly capture the essence of this classic mystery novel and give new excitement to the plot. Viewers can truly get the sense of the scenery as the movie shows exquisite pyramids and Egyptian structures amidst the conflict.

Overall, I would give the movie a four out of five and recommend it to anyone who likes Agatha Christie or has interest in mystery movies or books. Although it is aimed toward an older audience, anyone would love the movie as the suspense has viewers on the edge of their seats.
