Crumbl Cookies: A modern take on one of America’s favorite treats

If gourmet, freshly-baked cookies sound pleasing to your appetite, then Crumbl Cookies is for you! Located in Delaware, Ohio, it is a very short drive for most Berlin students. Crumbl Cookies has a very welcoming and contemporary atmosphere that draws in all individuals to taste their treats.

The original Crumbl Cookies is based in Logan, Utah and opened in 2017. Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan, the co-founders of Crumbl, decided to establish the company with hopes to create the best chocolate chip cookie ever made. After much trial and error and thousands of dollars spent, the founders finally crafted what they believe is the best chocolate chip cookie in the world.

A unique aspect of Crumbl Cookies is the constant rotation of cookies available for purchase every week. The menu includes four cookies that are continuously rotated with four new ones per week, so make sure to check the menu before you visit to ensure the cookie you want is available that week. Crumbl does have several cookies that are permanently on the menu, such as their famous Milk Chocolate Chip cookie and the semi-permanent Classic Sugar cookie.

The Crumbl Milk Chocolate Chip cookie is definitely the staple of the bakery. The warm, gooey chocolate chips inside this sweet, delicious cookie make this treat one of the best Crumbl cookies. I rate this cookie a five out of five because it is the perfect chocolate chip cookie, with an excellent balance of chocolate chips and batter.

The Classic Sugar cookie is another one of the semi-permanent treats on the menu. It is a simple, generic sugar cookie with pink vanilla icing on top. This dessert did not impress me, I felt it lacked flavor and was too basic for my taste. I rate this cookie one out of five stars because I only enjoyed the icing and all other aspects were not pleasing to my palate.

Crumbl’s cookie dough flavored cookie is exquisite. The sweet brown sugar base combined with the ice-cream style buttercream on top makes for an appetizing treat. The cookie dough flavor is surely my personal favorite out of all of the cookies at Crumbl. I rate it five out of five stars because the buttercream is very inventive and pleasing to the taste along with the cookie itself.

If you are a die-hard chocolate lover, then the Galaxy Brownie flavored cookie at Crumbl is for you! Similar to the Little-Debbie Cosmic Brownies, this cookie is a complete chocolate overload. If you do not enjoy an over-abundance of chocolate in your desserts, then the Galaxy Brownie flavored cookie will not be pleasing to your appetite. The cookie has a chocolate base with warm chocolate fudge and candy bits drizzled on top. I rated this cookie four out of five stars because I highly enjoyed the large amount of chocolate on this cookie, but I was not fond of the candy bits on top.

The Crumbl Cookies location in Delaware is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Crumbl Cookies is closed on Sundays. They do not offer the dine-in option, but they do offer curbside pickup, catering, delivery, in-store pickup, and the drive-thru next to the bakery. Customers are able to purchase cookies in boxes of four and six. I would rate the Crumbl Cookies location at Delaware a five out of five stars. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly to all customers in addition to being very efficient in preparing the customers’ orders in a timely manner.
