Global coffee powerhouse Starbucks, announced brand new protein drinks and a protein cold foam to their secret menu on Oct. 2, to all United States and Canada locations.
The new menu offers cold foam and infused milk with 15 to 36 grams of protein. Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol announced in late 2024 that he would branch the company away from its usual extensive menu to a new reduced menu. Niccol’s co-worker Tressie Lieberman is Starbucks’ Global Brand-Chief Officer
“As we continue to get back to Starbucks, we’re focused on modernizing our menu with innovative, relevant, and hype-worthy products that will resonate with our customers,” Tressie Leiberman said according to CNBC.
Both employees are recent additions to the company, as Niccol used to be the CEO of the worldwide burrito company, Chipotle. The new modifications have mixed reviews from customers.
“My friend brought the new cold foam to class today and I lifted it up to my nose and couldn’t stop gagging. It was horrible,” Kaci Shaffer ‘26 said.
