The Coffee Vault is a local Cafe located in Galena. This was my first time visiting, and as soon as I walked in, I could feel the welcoming atmosphere. This cafe might not be as big as others, but their quality and service were definitely of the best I have ever experienced.
The Coffee Vault first opened in 2018 and has been a hit spot for many locals. The cafe was a bank converted into a family-owned boutique and cafe that specializes in coffee and frozen drinks. This unique feature of the cafe really does give it an aspect that no other can have.
One thing that really appealed to me was their variation of drinks and food depending on the season, like pumpkin and apple flavors. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, specifically for the fall flavors, and of course, I was excited to try these new drinks.
At first glance, it was very crowded on the Saturday morning that I had decided to come, and there was a big line. But this line got cleared out pretty quickly, and within a few minutes, it was my turn to order. I decided on a Pumpkin Fluff Latte from their seasonal menu and the Croissant BLT, which then took around seven minutes to be made.
Time-wise, I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly everything came out, but this did make me apprehensive about the quality of the food. But once again, my doubts were proved wrong when I tried everything.
As a regular tea drinker, I was a bit nervous ordering a coffee, but this latte had been one of the best I have ever had. The coffee was not too strong for me, and the pumpkin flavor was the perfect taste for my palate. The only thing I will have to say on the latte was that the cold foam was a bit too dense, but that is preference-based. The sandwich I got was perfectly warmed and easy to eat with no mess left behind. It was also very flavorful with the mix of a sweet taste from the croissant and tangy from the sausage.
Price-wise, I would say they were good compared to other stores like Starbucks, where an Iced Pumpkin Spice latte is 6.45 dollars for a grande, while a Pumpkin Fluff Latte at The Coffee Vault is 6.20 dollars for a small (both 16 ounces). The sandwich I had bought was around 7 dollars, which was a reasonable price if we look at the quality of the ingredients compared to other famous chains. From this experience alone, I would choose The Coffee Vault over Starbucks anytime.
Overall, the entire experience was outstanding since all the staff were very friendly and efficient. They also have a seating area on the bottom floor, which fits around 10 to 20 people. This cafe is also the perfect place to study since the dining area is separated from the serving area by a whole floor. I would give The Coffee Vault 4.5 stars out of 5 because I did really enjoy trying the food, and I will definitely be back again sometime soon.
The Coffee Vault is the perfect place to go on a study date or even just to go for a bite to eat with friends, and their seasonal menu was one of the best additions to this experience.
