The week of homecoming is full of fun events for Berlin students. This year’s homecoming dance will take place on Sept. 27 from 8-11 p.m.
Tickets are already on sale on Parent PowerSchool for $20, but remember to buy tickets before Sept. 25, as after that date, the tickets will cost $40. Homecoming isn’t complete without a full week of events that lead up to the big dance.
Show your Berlin pride and participate in Spirit Week from Sept. 22 to Sept. 26. Monday starts strong with Adam Sandler. On this day, wear baggy, oversized clothes. Tuesday is senior citizens (seniors and juniors) versus babies (sophomores and freshmen). Wednesday is Country vs. Country Club.
“I am most excited for Country vs. Country Club because I have a bunch of country attire that I wouldn’t wear another day,” Naomi Barnett ’28 said.
Thursday is neon color war –seniors wear neon orange, juniors neon green, sophomores neon pink, and freshmen neon yellow. To wrap up the week is, of course, Double Blue Friday. With all the school spirit during the day, there are also plenty of ways to show support outside of school.
To begin the week, the powderpuff football game is Sept. 24. Sophomores vs Juniors and Freshmen vs Seniors. All the teams have been hard at work to prepare for these intense matchups. The annual bonfire will be on Thursday, Sept. 25, after the boys’ varsity soccer game against Dublin Jerome at home. The game kicks off at 7:15 p.m. Come show your support for the Bears. Berlin will then take on Hilliard Darby at home for the homecoming football game on Friday, Sept. 26, with kickoff at 7 p.m. Show up and show out in your favorite USA gear for the game.
“I’m most excited to wear my USA gear and see everyone else participating in the theme as well to show our support towards the football team,” Carsen Sergent, ’28 said.
