The gymnastics team comes in hot as they prepare for another season with intentions to be top three in the state competition.

In the past couple of seasons, they have dominated the competition floor with a team packed with extreme depth. Last year the team worked with intense strength and a brimful of hope as they took on each competition.

The team flourished at a variety of different competitions and proved their power with a season full of wins. Ultimately, it led them to be conference and district champions for the second consecutive title. This set them on the road to states for the third year in a row. The team now eagerly awaits the start of the 2022-2023 season.

This year the girls will return and add a few new additions to the group that will aid in the team score. Some difficult teams the girls will face include Dublin Jerome on Jan. 28 and Sheridan High School on Jan. 7 at the Mcgee Invitational. These two teams have proved to be a challenge for the gymnastics team, but last year the team placed right up near Sheridan and surpassed Jerome.

The group anticipates going up against all the Olentangy Schools to take on the rivalries and expectantly secure wins against the three schools. The team will face up against Olentangy and Orange early in the season on Jan. 4, but won’t compete against Olentangy Liberty until January 28.

Last year, the team hosted a home meet called “Tumbles and Takedowns;” this season it makes a return. On Feb. 16, the team will combine with the wrestling team to hold this event full of entertainment that varies between the two sports. Not only will this be an incredible night, but it will also be Senior Night to celebrate the gymnasts on the team.

If unable to make it out to that event, the team will host another home meet on Jan. 30, against Dublin Jerome, Central Crossings, Delaware Hayes, and Dublin Scioto. Come out loud and proud to cheer the team on as they take on another season in hopes of a road to states, part four!
