The varsity football team took on Hilliard Bradley at their first game of the season. The team powered through the rough hits of the game and brought excitement to the student section. Unfortunately, the Bears took a loss of 31-28.

They came back the next week with a load of passion to take on rivals Olentangy Orange. JT Tokins had 7.5 tackles for the game and Mason Ziegler had 16 rushes for 62 yards. The team took down Orange with incredible dominance on the field which resulted in a score of 17-0.

On Sept. 2, the team geared up and took their game on the road for the first time this season against Dublin Scioto. The Cave traveled loud and proud to cheer on the team as they made several strides on the field. Kyle Jackowski had 7 tackles throughout the game and Harrison Brewster contributed to the win with a touchdown. The team ultimately won their first away game with a score of 10-7.

Most recently the boys football team faced off against Olentangy Liberty in the second district rivalry game of the season. The team packed together to score ten points in the first half of the game. The boys football team took command of the game in the third quarter with another touchdown and were ahead with a score of 17-14. The boys continued to work hard in the last quarter but sadly Liberty gained some traction and ran the ball for a touchdown with a few minutes left in the quarter. The boys fought long and hard at the end but resulted in a loss of 17-21.

At the end of this week, the team will hit the road again to battle against Hilliard Davidson and on Sept. 23, the Bears will take on the last district rivalry game against Olentangy.
